Scouting News:
We meet 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45
during the school year,
summer months vary. We usually do one trip a month. Some of the
things
we've done over the past 12 months is camping on the USS Yorktown in
Charleston, Disney on Ice in Columbia, Hiking at Chimney Rock,
Christmas
parade, Girl Scout Dance, Family Partnership Cake Bake and Auction
(50%
of money raised went to Louisiana girl scout council, 50% went to
our
inner city girl scouts in Spartanburg, we raised over $500), Hiking
at
Paris Mountain State Park, Lake Sweep (lake clean up at Lake Bowen
in
Inman, they collected over 1000 lbs of trash in about 4 hours) and
the
girls have been making cards for Queen for a Day (program run by
Mrs.
South Carolina for children with cancer) and they have collected
girl
scout cookies for them too. Last month we made 19 courage caps for
that
program. Mrs. Singleton gave them out at the cancer ward at
Greenville
Children's Hospital.
